What happens in a free assessment and how is Schoolpedia different ?

The very first thing we do is give your child a skills assessment. We give them both a written and oral assessment so that we can get a deep understanding of not only what they know, but how they think! We sit down with them, put them at ease, and give them an assessment that doesn’t feel too easy or too hard. Most importantly, we find out how they learn! This is a unique to Schoolpedia assessment that has been developed through many years of classroom experience and research and is part of our Schoolpedia Education Method. Then we give them a few ideas and strategies that they can use immediately. We then build an individual learning plan that targets their personal gaps and quickly shows them success. After all, this is what we are here for!

Why is confidence important ?

At Schoolpedia we deliver Intensive Programmes for motivated students of all ages. We concentrate more on language in context than on teaching grammar and language structure. Our ESP Courses are built on an assessment of purposes and needs for which English is required. This is a unique programme and that is why most of our students have chosen us because we analyse which language skills are most needed by our students and the syllabus is designed accordingly.

I want my child to have individual attention from a tutor. So is Schoolpedia doing one-to-one tutoring?

Another great question! We believe that learning should be personal, and at Schoolpedia, it is. Our
tutors are more than traditional teachers. We have brilliant, engaging, inspiring teachers that work one-to-one with your child long enough to get them started and make sure they understand what to do. Then the teacher steps back and lets your child work independently to give them the time to process this new information without the pressure and stress of being watched. Our teachers quickly come back after a minute or two in order to make sure they are working correctly, give them encouragement, motivation and praise them for their efforts! If the student needs more help we simply teach the lesson again in a different way until they “get it”. This enables your child to become a “confident and truly independent learner.”

We know that Schoolpedia-checkmark one-on-one attention during every lesson, Schoolpedia-checkmark time to work on skills independently
and Schoolpedia-checkmark the social engagement within a classroom environment is crucial for truly mastering concepts and skills. It’s a combination that gets results.

How often can my child attend?

What is the ratio of children to tutors?

At Schoolpedia we work on a ratio of six to one. This means that one tutor works with a maximum of six children who are all working on their own individual learning plan. Our inspiring teachers work one-to-one with your child long enough to get them started and make sure they understand
what to do. Then the teacher steps back and lets your child work independently but they quickly come back after a minute or two in order to make sure they are working correctly, give them
encouragement, motivation and praise them for their efforts! This creates an excellent balance of support enabling your child to become a “confident and truly independent learner.”

What makes Schoolpedia's tutoring work?

At Schoolpedia, we believe the best kind of learning — the kind that makes students not only smarter but more independent and confident — has to take into account that each child is unique, with their own learning style so, we first need to find out how they learn. That’s why we use our own proven, research and classroom based curriculum, 100% in line with the National Curriculum Method called Schoolpedia Education Method, which makes learning personal and meaningful. We assess your child’s academic strengths and needs, pinpointing the skills that your child needs to strengthen. The result? Amazing, high-five, moments when learning just clicks.
